It ain't gonna be strategy/tactical game like the original. We're gonna get a Syndicate FPS, but I'm looking forward to it anyway... loved the original Syndicate

I also loved Syndicate, but I loved it because it was a strategy/tactical game. Turning it into an FPS kinda removes the thing that made it interesting. It's not like the plot or the setting were particularly amazing :-/

Yeah, I got my worries when it comes to this title, but I'm hoping for the best ...plus, I'm not sure if I'd like to get the same Syndicate only with better graphics.

I don't see why'd you want another generic shooter that has nothing to do with the IP other than the name and bits and pieces of theme, either :b

Could as well name it "CYBORGS AND DRUGZ" and no-one would be any wiser that it is a Syndicate game

(wonder if they even will keep the drugs component -- apparently it's just a "LOL U CAN SLOW DOWN TIME WITH THIS" thing now. Not some funky stuff that makes your guy shoot everyone and everything in the area)

Well yeah, like Kaguya said...remove the unique gameplay of the original game and you lose the original game. Putting it into an FPS is just going to turn it into the most generic, cliche sci-fi shooter.

What I'm saying is that I don't really want the same game only with some up to date nice graphics.. Just like with movies, I don't mind remakes but if it's just a copy of the original movie and only the actors and special effects changed, then I rather skip it.

Yeah it can happen that it'll be just another FPS (with a great name ) but let's wait for some more news before we start to judge that

i'm pretty sure they'll do it in the rpg fallout 3 style of game as they've seen how well it did and thought hey we can do that with syndicate as we still own the brand? thats my guess anyway

But Syndicate was neither an RPG or an FPS.

I fail to see the point of making this a 'Syndicate' game. They could just as well make a new IP. Suppose they just rely on the partial nerd outrage as additional marketing fuel; and as a couple of free nostalgia buys on top of trying to appeal to the current era console kiddies where the real money comes from.

To be fair; EA would never OK an AAA strategy title the IP should be. It's either "generic shooter v. 256" or nothing.

Ohwell, we still have Paradox; who actually is making a 'Syndicate' game that follows on the footsteps of the original. Thenagain it being Paradox has all kinds of possible negatives to it...

Hey I just noticed, it's Starbreeze. That's who Dopefish used to work for...let's bully him to tell us what they are doing ^_^

But yeah, I just get the impression from the article that they are going for a straight up FPS. I would just expect more specific hype if it was going to be anything else. The first thing they would want to tell anyone is "This isn't going to just be an FPS"...the lack of any comment like that speaks volumes.

I'm sure it'll have RPG elements, but what game doesn't these days?

They took Riddick, and made an awesome game around it. If they can do it again, cool. (tho it still would be a good FPS-shooty-game, not an strategy game)

i never understood why they take popular IP and make something totally diffrent with it.

front mission evolved being prime example, take popular TBS game and turn it into third person shooter, which resulted in poor copy of armored core.

i get same feeling for this AND the new x-com game that's coming out.
